The Background Flow Mixes by Todd "Big La" Kelley

I've been knowing this gifted DJ/Producer/Podcaster since '06 and Todd Kelley where many hats in the world of music/graphic design. As I was creating this new page for my blog I was happy to see that he has created a stand alone page on his Flowink.com site with just his instrumental mixes, The Background Flow. He has just dropped "The Background Flow 16" and I'm downloading all 16 mixes as we speak.

My Thoughts on Atomic Skunk's Forthcoming Album, "Portal"

(**Reviewed this album back in February 2010**)
When making a gapless album a keepsake is that it has to flow effortlessly and I don't mean blending from one track to another. The compositions has to take you on a journey, it has to make you get caught up in the sounds, the notes, the harmony. When it has been executed right you forget about the time and it makes you reflect on the past, the present, and the future. When it has missed the mark, you're counting the minutes, you're pausing the recording, you are thinking, "what else can I be doing right about now.

The new album from Rich Brodsky aka Atomic Skunk is truly the former.

The new album, "Portal" takes you on a journey from one imaginary place to another and the cool thing about it is that when I came from that journey I didn't mind going again.

My Thoughts on Will Ackerman's "New England Roads" CD

(**Reviewed October 2010**)
This is so ironic. Back in the early 90s I was introduced to the Windham Hill label while working as a night janitor at a Target store when I first moved to Missouri. The album, "Windham Hill Records Sampler '88" I saw in Target and rushed to buy that album as well as the "Windham Hill Sampler '86" and from there my love for this beautiful music journey began. The very first composition I heard from Will Ackerman was "Climbing in Geometry", originally from the "Conferring With The Moon" on the '88 sampler and when hearing the track I knew I have found the type of music I had been seeking all of my life.
